This might have interesting effects for thorns that expect BASEGRID to be
run only once. E.g., AHFinderDirect has a setup routine with
options: global scheduled as BASEGRID which shouldn't be run more than

I think this works for most thorns; however, CartGrid3D and
SphericalSurface would need altering.
